ISO 14113 is getting closer to publication. It is expected to reach the FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) stage in 2023. There are some significant changes to the 2013 publication.\n

You can expect to see trapped key interlocks included extensively and referred to as Type 5 interlocking devices and systems. \n
\n
Motivation to defeat features prominantly and fault exclusion is covered in more detail.\n
\n

Safety of machinery \u2014 Identification of whole body access and prevention of associated risks<\/h2>

This development is being followed closely by the Australian committee SF41 and Australian participation will continue at the May 2023 meeting. Whole body access is being defined for the first time. Given the increase in automation and the integration of mutliple machines inside the same safeguarded space this is likely to be a very important machinery safety standard.<\/p> <\/div>
